The latest Kevin and Bean party was announced today. It was a twist on the usual singles party, however: it's a couples' SWINGERS party! It will be held this weekend in Caesars Palace, with a live broadcast from Las Vegas next Monday.
6:40 - Bob Dylan and Anthony Keidis, Best Friends
Apparently, RHCP's Anthony Keidis is a huge fan of Bob Dylan. So they called up Bob, who confirmed that they were indeed buddies. In fact, Anthony was there with him on the phone! Appropriately, Bob's Theme Time Radio Hour theme this week was friends. Anthony alternately yelled random phrases and quiet, nonsensical deep insights, while Bob wheezed in his inaudible tone. Kevin noted that it sounded like they were speaking their own language.
7:28 - Alan Jackson's Lame "I Still Like Baloney" Song
Recently, country singer Alan Jackson held a party to celebrate 50 million albums sold, and served baloney sandwiches as a tribute to his current hit, "I Still Like Baloney". Ralph - passionate hater of all country music - thought this song sounded like the worse one ever made. This was confirmed when Bean (a fan of Alan Jackson), played the song. Ralph hilariously ripped it to shreds, and Kevin agreed. Bean, however, would only admit that while it wasn't his favorite Alan Jackson song, he still thought it was ok. The others pointed out it was the exact opposite of ok.
7:45 - Olympics Trampolining
Can you believe that jumping on a trampoline is an actual Olympic sport? Kevin couldn't, and he brought in clips of NBC's coverage to prove its lameness. He highlighted the double entendres ("going in and out of the box"), the suggestive names (Cocburn, Dong Dong), and a guy who simply jumped up and down for a full minute.
8:10 - Rise Against
The band came into the studio to talk about their new album, Appeal to Reason. Bizarrely, the band saw an album cover for Rick Dees' Disco Duck, which Bean played for them and tried to convince them to cover. The band was tempted.
8:45 - Game: Stump Dave
For Weezer tickets, listeners had to stump Dave with Weezer trivia.
