Nice water bottle, Bean!
In this clip, Kevin, always the consummate pro, blurts out: "Hey, we're on!" Bean proudly displays his crotchal area for all viewers to see while he strokes a large, upright water bottle between his legs (above screenshot). He also riffs on the Clarence Thomas hearings, to no one's interest, in an early version of "Thanks For That Info Bean!" And did I mention Bean's red and white polka dot shorts??
"You'll understand that joke in about 5 minutes..."
A cardboard stand-up of Bean makes its first appearance. Also, Bean makes a joke so lame that he has to explain it when no one laughs, the boys get confused by the cue cards, and Bean bashes the bad title of some new song called "Smells Like Teen Spirit."
Young Lightning already being pushed around.
Not at all discouraged from his previous dud of a news joke, Bean riffs on the Jimmy Swaggert scandal. Also, a young Lightning also makes a very brief, slow appareance (ironic for his name, get it?), and early Oprah-bashing.

I loved Request Video. Jim "Poorman" Trenton was an early host. It is
better than Video One or Night FLight. I loved KDOC because it had Hot Seat
with Wally George (RIP).

Hey I just wanna say you guys rock. I listen to you guys every morning on
my way to work and I think you guys do a great job by being who you are on
the radio, not many people can be as straight-forward as you two are.

kevin and bean are right. they've never been good at whatever it is they
were doing.
why is it that neither kevin nor bean seem to have any hair on their legs
at all? and Bean was hot!!
How it is that BEAN the weird recluse has the most stage presense of the
the two of them when it comes to TV?

Great Blog! I've known Bean since at least 1975. I could sure tell some
stories. Is the Leah that made an entry on 29 August the same from back
east?
Damn You Bastards for not having a Christmas Album this year. Next Thing
you know Kevin will Break up Christmas.
Bean was hot - definately. And he seemed to take the lead while Kevin
spoke when necessary. It seems almost opposite that now. I so miss the
old Kevin and Bean show - what happened to Peter, Peter, the whatever he
was and Rita the Meter Maid? They need to be brought back - at least for a
little while! KROQ rocks!!!
It was a much happier time back then! And I will forever think that Bean
is hot...back in the day when he worked in Phoenix he was a "Ladies Man"
I totally agree with everyone that said bean looked hot. Wow, could they
have been any worse? Keep up the great work guys!

am i the only one here that remembers gia disantis? man, i was so in love
with her back then. my friends and i used to go to the studio to watch her
do the show and were there for 2 or 3 of the times kevin and bean were
there. by the way, you guys were assholes to us when we tried to talk to
you. gia was always super nice though.
oh shit! i just watched clip 3 and realized that my friends and i were the
audience and the "dan who will applaud at anything" is my oldest friend.

Thank you for the clips! I used to love Request Video when it was still on
the air. And yes, I remember Gia, as well as when Kevin and Bean would
host. That show introduced me to a lot of bands I might not have heard
otherwise. I wish I had recorded it. Where can I get a copy of that DVD?!

in that Gia was awesome.
Trying to start the first ever ONE MAN BAND SERVICES. Thought you guys
could help. I have 4 members so far, but 1 of them is myself. I guess I'm
worldwide already having my first member from the U.K. (I have no idea
where he found the website though) - I haven't advertised yet, and I'm
looking forward to getting a few more members to start the competitions.
